Why Join?
WIIS NL provides various activities for its members, which are all geared towards fulfilling the pillars of the foundation:

To promote greater gender equality in security institutions in the Netherlands and Europe as well as institutions that partly deal with security issues

To connect practitioners, policy makers and academics in the Netherlands to achieve this goal

To educate and inform general audiences in the Netherlands about the importance of gender balancing and gender equality in international security.
In order to meet these objectives, we specifically aim to inspire, empower, and connect our members through the wide range of developed activities. These include:
Networking
Facilitating low-key get togethers or drinks may provide a social setting in which our members can easily chat and network, without having to necessarily attend an informative or educational event.
Education/Training
We organize informative talks, panel discussions, and have previously recorded our own podcast. Moreover, WIIS-NL is actively developing more training and educational opportunities for our subscribers that are tailored to their professional needs.
Mentoring
The WIIS NL Sponsorship programme aims to support individuals in capacity building and opening doors for new opportunities in the field of international security. This programme seeks to create one-on-one matches between a senior level professional and a junior level professional, and throughout the course of 6 months provide them with moments in which they can step into the world of the senior expert.
