The WPS Agenda and the Middle East: Progress or Procrastination?

This panel will include three women who engage with the WPS agenda from different angles: as a security practitioner, a peacemaker, and an academic. Ella van den Heuvel, Mekka Abdelgabar, and Bilge Sahin will be discussing how the WPS agenda is understood in the Middle East, what challenges face its implementation, and the extent to which it is contributing to greater gender equality in the region.
